Operation APEC 18 Assist was the 2018 Australian Defence Force mission supporting Papua New Guinea in securing the APEC Leaders’ Summit in Port Moresby. Over 1,500 personnel provided maritime, airspace, and logistical support, including RAAF surveillance and HMAS Adelaide, to ensure a safe, successful event. SASR, Commandos, HMAS Adelaide, Super Hornets and surveillance aircraft were involved in support for the operation.
