1st Combat Service Support Battalion (1 CSSB) provides combat service support to the 1st Brigade in order to sustain mechanised operations in the defence of Australia and its interests.
It comprises Health, Logistic Support, Maintenance, Supply and Transport Companies. 1 CSSB is made up of five different sub-units, Logistic Support, Maintenance, Health, Supply and Transport.
Our barracks function of providing formation level CSS replicates our field role. On a day-to-day basis, all units within the 1st Brigade rely heavily on the support provided by 1 CSSB.
The Battalion operates heavy haulage equipment such as Mack trucks and tank transporters, to support the Brigade’s operations across Australia.
