The University of New South Wales Regiment is an Army Reserve officer training regiment of the Australian Army.
University of New South Wales Regiment (UNSWR) is tasked with recruiting and preparing staff cadets for training at Royal Military College of Australia in order to provide the Army with excellent junior officers and to conduct training for the 8th Brigade. 
This mission requires UNSWR to prepare for a number of different tasks, including conducting individual all corps pre-commissioning training for Part-Time General Reserve Officers, fostering officers for the Regular Army through the Officer Tertiary Recruitment Scheme, and conducting courses on the National Training Schedule. 
The motto of University of New South Wales Regiment is ‘Scientia’, which is Latin for ‘Knowledge’.
