Comments: Operation Norwich – Deployment Patch. Complete with velcro.

Operation Norwich was the Australian Defence Forces (ADF) contribution to the provision of security support to the visit by Barack Obama, the President of the United States to Canberra and Darwin in November 2011.

The ADF commitment to the presidential visit involved the formation of two Joint Task Forces providing search, counter terrorism, airspace control, and intelligence and surveillance capabilities.

Operation Norwich logo/patch is a circle patch/logo that has a black border and a gray background to represent an internal Australian operation.

The blue and white checks are representative of both Federal and State Police that provided security advice and protection services during the Presidential visit.

The Black circle is representative of the various other government agencies and departments that provide close personal protection to all dignitaries supporting the Presidential visit.

The Purple Federation Star is a mixture of the Armed Service colours; Royal Australia Navy Blue, Australian Army Red, and Royal Australian Air Force Light Blue.

The Star is a representative symbol of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) contribution in providing support with an integrated reactionary and united external security presence to enhance both the Police and external government security agencies.

The Eagle with a five pointed star holding olive leaves and arrow heads, is an artistic representation of the Presidential Seal. All outer symbols on the logo/patch (Blue Checks, Black Circle and Purple Federation Star) depict the security provided to protect the President of the United States.
