Comments: Original Australian Flying Corps attributed photo album.

The photo album contains a total of 106 photographs that shows mostly aircraft and a couple of aircraft workshop, landscape scenes, social gatherings and family portraits. The identification of the persons in the portraits are unknown. The photographs however do hold some clues and provide further research possibility, particularly when it comes to the aircraft where the serial numbers are clearly identifiable. An example is serial number D7787 an Avro 504 attached to 6 Squadron AFC Minchinhampton, United Kingdom and was involved in a landing accident at Minchinhampton.

Unfortunately, several of the photographs have faded over time but they can still be made out. Twelve of the photographs have been permanently attached to the inside of the front cover and measure approx 6cm x 4cm. The rest measure approx 8cm x 5cms and are loosely inserted into their pages. The album binding is loose, and the webbing can be seen in the centre. There are no names or dates that are visible to provide any kind of provenance as to where the album came from or who was the original owner.

My own personal favourite photograph in the album is the aircraft with the dragon artwork on the fuselage. The aircraft is believed to be serial number A6249, a Sopwith Pup that served with No. 5 and 6 Squadrons, AFC.
