Comments: Royal Australian Army Service Corps (RAASC) – Officer collar badge pair – circa early 1970s. Complete with 2 pins.
One of the scarcest post 1960 badges – the officers of the RAASC preferred to wear the bi-metal 1953-60 badge instead of these ones and thus not as many are around.
The Royal Australian Army Service Corps (RAASC) was an Australian army unit. Formed shortly after the Federation of Australia on 1 January 1901, it was known as the Australian Army Service Corps (MSC). The MSC/AASC/RAASC served in World War I, World War II, as part of the British Commonwealth Occupation Force in Japan, Korean War, Malayan Emergency and the Vietnam War. The RAASC was disbanded on 31 May 1973.
